Born in Seville, Isabel Bayón began dancing at the age of five in Matilde Coral's dance school. At 16 she graduated in Spanish dance from the Cordoba and Seville Conservatoires. Over the last twenty-five years, she has taken part in countless national and international music and dance festivals. She worked as choreographer and guest artist for the Andalusian Dance Company inEncuentroand createdDel Alma for her own company, Isabel Bayón Compañía Flamenca, which premiered in the XII Bienal de Arte Flamenco of Seville. More recently she performed as a guest artist for Javier Baron inNotas al pie, presented in the 2005 Festival de Jerez. In 2007, Bayón premiered La Puerta Abierta in the XIV Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Sevilla, a play that won the Giraldillo for the best play in the festival.

Bayón teaches workshops at Centro Flamenco from July 26-31, 2008.
